Privacy policy

Semantic Scout is a data lineage and metadata platform based in Stockholm, Sweden. We are the controller for the personal data described on this page. You can reach us at contact@semanticscout.com.

We do not set tracking cookies, run advertising pixels, or fingerprint visitors. That is why you were never asked to accept a cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.

We also run no website analytics at present. If that changes, we will use a cookieless, EU-hosted service that collects only aggregate statistics and no personal data, and we will say so here before it goes live.

The only personal data we collect through this website is what you type into one of our forms — the demo request, the pilot request, or the contact form. That is:

• your name;
• your email address;
• your company, if you choose to give it;
• the message and any context you write.

We use it to answer you, and to carry on the conversation you started. We do not use it for automated decision-making, and we do not sell it.

Form submissions are delivered through our own endpoint hosted on Amazon Web Services in the EU (Stockholm region, eu-north-1) and reach us by email. Our email and any customer-relationship tooling we use are bound by confidentiality obligations and process the data only on our instructions.

We process contact and pilot enquiries on the basis of legitimate interest — you asked us a commercial question and we are answering it. Job and thesis applications are processed on the basis of consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We keep correspondence for as long as the commercial relationship or conversation is live, and delete it when it is not, unless a longer period is required by law. If you would like your data removed sooner, ask us and we will do it.

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Write to contact@semanticscout.com and a human will answer. If we cannot resolve a concern, you may complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

We may update this policy. Changes are published on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
